It doesn’t take much convincing for me to take a nice relaxing bath!
But whenever I do a juice cleanse, the detox bath is just as important as the juice (in my humble opinion).
The purpose of a juice cleanse is to pull all the toxins from every cell in your body. Your cells are able to release the toxins when we nourish it with healthy clean juice (pressed juice or from a juicer– no added sugars or flavors). We eliminate these toxins through urine, bowl movements, and sweat.
Another effective way is to take a detox bath which pulls the toxins from our body. Studies show that it takes the first 20 minutes ob being submerged in the water to pull the toxins from your pores. The following time allows your body to re-absorb any minerals, salts, and essential oils in the water.
My go-to detox bath includes:
- Bathtub of hot water
- 1-2 c baking soda
- 1-2T ground ginger (you can slice fresh ginger as well
These are easy and inexpensive ingredients to keep in the house!
You dont have to save detox baths for juice cleanses either! If you are working out hard, or switching to a cleaner diet a detox bath helps to pull all the extra toxins from your body so it can replenish with total goodness.
